[w!otd] and more!
GAFFE
(noun) - social blunder; a tactless remark, act, etc.
Hockey
is a recent favorite sport of mine. Watching last night's match between Vancouver Canucks
and Chicago Blackhawks
was quite intense. I was reminded of the same feeling I felt from watching FIFA World Cup
last year. I was then rooting for Spain and shouting Viva Espana!
I was really hooked to the game that it made me stay up until 5 in the morning. It was worth it, though. [Of course, my team WON!] Anyhow, our word of the day is pretty much associated to sports which is why athletes must be cognizant in their actions to avoid it. You wouldn't want a supposed win ruined by a GAFFE. Just like in hockey, a goalie shouldn't let a weak goal in.
