So I was reading a couple of articles on National Geographic News website yesterday and I've came across an article about recently discovered fungi
. It struck me because it was so odd but totally pleasing or enticing to my eyes. It was a like a reminiscence of what I used to enjoy in college with my BIOmates --appreciating the complexities and diversities of life [forcibly at times. hehe!] There was this fungi named after the cartoon 'Spongebob Squarepants
' because of its spongy appearance. It even showed more similarity with its spore-producing area resembling a seafloor carpeted in tube sponges when scanned under an electron microscope. [Read full article HERE] Another amazing discovery was made back in October 2009 when a psychedelic new species of glowing mushroom was seen in the Brazilian rainforest.
